FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
STEM School Chattanooga Partners with IMSA for a real-world student project.
International Maritime Security Associates is excited to partner with STEM School Chattanooga to offer a real-world opportunity for their students.
|Chattanooga, Tennessee— The classroom goes real world. Each quarter STEM School Chattanooga students have the opportunity to select projects working with real-world companies. This quarter some of the STEM School Chattanooga students have selected to do a project with technology and consulting company, International Maritime Security Associates (IMSA). IMSA is currently developing the ARMS (https://imsa.global/arms/) maritime risk management software platform here in Chattanooga that will have major implications in the logistics and worldwide shipping industries. The company is partnering with STEM School Chattanooga to provide an opportunity for the students to develop one of the data API’s.
“This is a great opportunity for IMSA working with the students at STEM School Chattanooga. We believe it is extremely important for companies to partner with educational institutions to provide real-world opportunities for students,” Comments Corey Ranslem, Chief Executive Officer of IMSA. “This type of project partnership is part of the DNA at IMSA as we are always looking for opportunities to work with the next generation.”
Ken Kranz the STEM School Chattanooga FabLab Teacher and Robotics Coach added “The STEM School Chattanooga is very excited to partner with IMSA on this project. You can’t ask for a better way to inspire students than working with a startup company on a technology project with an impact on global maritime logistics. Not only will our students develop skills in collaboration, critical thinking, and innovation, they will see firsthand how maritime shipping and operations affect our economy and their daily lives.”
“Through this project the students will be exposed to a much wider view of the world and other potential career fields that they might not have considered before the project,” remarks Ranslem.
The kick-off meeting for the project is being hosted at the offices of Chambliss, Bahner & Stophel on October 19th. IMSA is also one of the finalists for the ChaTech Early Innovator Award.
